DESIGN & METALS

Each piece at Holly Spagnola Design is made by the artist’s own hands using silver and gold, accented with the enamel and precious gemstones.

Our jewelry goes through the process of sawing, shaping, soldering, and polishing before the final touches of hand engraving and stone setting.

JEWELRY CARE

If it is cared for properly, fine jewelry can become a treasured family heirloom. It needs to be loved and treated well so it can be enjoyed for generations to come.

To clean your jewelry yourself, brush delicately with a very soft small brush in lukewarm soapy water, then carefully rinse it in lukewarm water and wipe it with a soft cloth.

Avoid any kind of contact with household bleach or cleaning products, which will quickly cause gold to discolor and possibly disintegrate. Take off your jewelry when swimming or bathing.

Prevent your jewelry from coming into contact with hair spray, deodorants and perfumes. Extreme temperatures, cosmetics, ultrasonic cleaning and household chemicals can also damage jewelry.

Protect your jewelry from impact against hard surfaces and avoid contact with abrasive surfaces. Even a diamond can chip if hit with enough force or at just the right angle. Many stones such as amethyst, emerald, opal, pearl, peridot, tanzanite and tourmaline are very delicate and easily abraded. Enamel and Ceramic finishes can also chip or scratch when struck. Gemstones can scratch other gemstones and wear away at precious metals.

When not wearing your fine jewelry, Store it carefully in its original pouch or box or another suitably lined box or pouch and try not to let the pieces touch to avoid scratching.

Dirt is your enemy. To protect your spurs and silver embellished accessories, keep them clean from dust and mud. The best way to clean them is to wash them in water and gentle soap with an old toothbrush. Dry thoroughly. A polishing cloth will restore their luster. If heavily tarnished, a gentle silver polish can be used without harm. Do not soak spurs, bits, and stirrups in water for an excessive time.

Like all the stainless steel products, Gun metal "blued" spurs need an additional step of oil or WD4o after cleaning. Completely dry spurs before applying and wipe off remaining oil.
